摘要: 新型冠狀病毒(COVID-19)自 2019 年末爆發以來,對全球各國經濟和社會 造成深刻的影響,並直接或間接影響多個行業的勞動市場。本文使用 2017 年至 2022 年受僱員工薪資調查數據,從勞動需求方的角度量化 COVID-19 對薪資、 僱用人數、員工進退率等勞動市場指標所帶來的影響,運用差異中之差異法 (Differences-in-differences, DID)的研究方法,比較疫情期間與非疫情期間的差 異情況,以確定疫情對勞動市場的影響程度,了解不同行業在疫情衝擊下的適 應能力和市場變化,並加入性別、遠距工作能力變數,更全面分析疫情間各項 變數是否會對結果產生影響。\n實證結果除了量化 2020 年至 2022 年三年疫情對各行業的影響,還發現此 影響會因性別、遠距工作能力而有所差異。; Since its outbreak in late 2019, COVID-19 has profoundly impacted economies and societies globally, directly or indirectly affecting labor markets across various industries. This paper employs data from the Employee Earnings Survey spanning from 2017 to 2022 to quantify the effects of COVID-19 on labor market indicators such as wages, employment figures, employee turnover rates, and more, from the perspective of labor demand. Using the Differences-in-Differences (DID) research methodology, we compare the differences during the pandemic period with those during non-pandemic periods, aiming to ascertain the extent of COVID-19`s influence on the labor market. By doing so, we seek to comprehend the adaptive capacities and market dynamics of different industries in response to the pandemic`s impact, while also incorporating variables such as gender and remote work capabilities to conduct a more comprehensive analysis of potential influences on the outcomes.\nThe empirical results not only quantify the effects of the pandemic on various industries from 2020 to 2022 but also reveal variations in impact due to gender and remote work capabilities.

題名: 探討專利與政策關係-以中國逆變器產業為例; Exploring the Relationship between Patents and Policies: Evidence from Inverter Industry in China

摘要: 再生能源為現今受到全球重視的重要議題之一,為了達成碳中和目標各國紛 紛祭出能源政策,相關廠商也隨之受惠。過去中國大量政策補貼太陽能產業,以 低價競爭的方式破壞國際太陽能市場,最終導致各國築起關稅壁壘。為了瞭解這 樣的結果是否會在再生能源的儲能領域中重現,本研究整理中國歷年再生能源政 策,並舉太陽能與儲能的共通關鍵零組件-逆變器為例,從專利角度切入,以逆 變器之專利公開狀況對照中國各階段的政策,結果發現隨著中國政策的轉向,專 利數據也有趨勢性的改變。本研究另整理中國市佔前幾名逆變器廠商的專利資料 以及財務資料,建構迴歸模型討論政府補貼與中國企業研發投入的關係,發現兩 者呈現正向相關。而我們也觀察到掌握儲能技術的廠商,也會有較好的財務績效, 驗證目前市場的風向的確吹往儲能領域。實證結果顯示能源政策仍須有國家在背 後的支持才得以發展,而未來各國仍須提防中國於再生能源領域的佈局。; Renewable energy is one of the important global issues that is currently receiving significant attention. In order to achieve carbon neutrality goals, many countries have implemented various energy policies, benefiting related companies. In the past, China heavily subsidized the solar energy industry, which led to international market disruption through low-price competition and eventually resulted in the imposition of tariffs by other countries. To understand whether similar outcomes may occur in the energy storage field of renewable energy, this study examines China`s renewable energy policies over the years. Taking key component of solar and energy storage, inverters, as an example, the study investigates the patent application status of inverters in relation to China`s policy changes. The results reveal that patent application data exhibit a trend in line with shifts in China`s policies. Additionally, the study compiles patent application and financial data of the top inverter manufacturers in China and constructs models to examine the relationship between government subsidies and R&D investment by Chinese companies. The findings demonstrate a positive correlation between the two. Furthermore, it is observed that companies with expertise in energy storage technologies also exhibit better financial performance, confirming the current market trend toward the energy storage sector. The empirical results indicate that energy policies still require support from national governments for development, and countries need to be cautious of China`s positioning in the field of renewable energy.

摘要: 房市一直是個很熱門的話題,在預測房價指數上多數是傳統理論與機器學習各自分開進行的。在台灣,很少有將傳統理論與機器學習結合使用,進行房價指數的預測。本篇論文探討了LSTM中特徵縮放的選擇,並建構理論啟發的LSTM,將其與LSTM與VAR模型進行比較。另外,在資料的選擇上,我們也考慮了一般民眾、投資客等對房市的情緒指標,並使其成為其中一個解釋變數。我們的研究表明,第一,在我們的數據集中,當出現異常值是之前的房價指數,預測上將會出現延遲問題,此時選擇StandardScaler可能是一個不錯的選擇。第二,在理論啟發的LSTM中,我們透過更清晰的區分短期與長期影響,可以達到類似StandardScaler的效果,使得使用MinmaxScaler的LSTM的延遲問題與準確度將得到部分改善。第三,我們的結果表明,我們的情緒指標會有效的影響房價指數,因此應該作為衡量房地產市場情緒的重要指標。; The housing market has always been a hot topic, and when it comes to predicting house price index, most approaches involve separate applications of traditional theories and machine learning. In Taiwan, there are few attempts to combine traditional theories and machine learning to predict house price index. This paper explores the choice of feature scaling in LSTM and constructs a theory-inspired LSTM, which is compared with LSTM and VAR models in predicting house price index. In addition, in data selection, we also considered sentiment or emotional indicators for the housing market among the general public, investors, and others, and included it as one of the explanatory variables. Our results first show that, in our dataset, when there are outliers in previous house price index, there may be a delay problem in prediction. In such cases, choosing StandardScaler may be a good option. Second, in the theory-inspired LSTM, we achieve a similar effect to StandardScaler by clearly distinguishing between short-term and long-term influences. This can partially improve the delay issue and accuracy of using MinmaxScaler in LSTM. Third, our results indicate that our emotional indicator has a significant impact on house price index and should be considered an important measure of sentimental or emotional motivation in the real estate market.

摘要: 本文探討影視串流平台之競爭,並分析打擊未經授權的帳號共享對影視串流平台與市場造成之影響。我們提出了兩個理論模型,模型中皆存在兩家影視串流平台,為消費者提供具網絡效果的異質產品。在第一個模型中,設定消費者的偏好是一維的,而第二個模型則將消費者偏好擴展至二維表示。針對兩個模型,我們分別分析模型中存在與不存在市場擴張效果時的情形。研究結果顯示,在沒有市場擴張效果的一維和二維模型中,當某一平台打擊未經授權的帳號共享時,將導致自身利潤減少,並使其競爭對手利潤增加。此外,模擬結果表明,不論影視串流平台本身的決策是否能夠影響市場規模大小,當某一平台開始打擊未經授權的帳號共享時,此舉將會對自身造成負面影響,但有利於其競爭對手。另外,當平台有能力影響市場規模時,兩平台間的價格競爭趨於緩和。我們的研究結果也說明,在沒有考慮市場擴張效果下,二維模型比一維模型有更高的均衡片量、訂閱費、訂閱數與利潤。如果考慮了市場擴張效果,從二維模型轉向一維模型時,兩個影視串流平台的均衡訂閱數皆會上升。; This paper explores the competition between video streaming platforms and investigates the effects of crackdown on unauthorized account sharing. We propose two theoretical models that incorporate two video streaming platforms offering heterogeneous products with network effects. In the first model, consumers’ taste is depicted as one-dimensional, whereas the second model expands consumers’ taste to a two-dimensional representation. We separately analyze scenarios with and without the market expansion effect in the two models. The findings indicate that in both one-dimensional and two-dimensional taste models, when there is no market expansion effect, a crackdown on unauthorized account sharing by one platform results in a decrease in its own profits and an increase in the profits of its competitors. Furthermore, the simulation results demonstrate that irrespective of whether platforms’ decisions can influence the market size, when a particular platform takes action against unauthorized account sharing, it will have a negative impact on itself but will confer benefits to its competitors. It also suggests that when platforms have the ability to affect the market size, price competition tends to ease. Our findings also illustrate that, in the absence of market expansion effects, the two-dimensional taste model yields higher equilibrium video numbers, subscription fees, number of subscribers, and profits compared to the one-dimensional taste model. Additionally, when accounting for the market expansion effects, transitioning from the two-dimensional taste model to one dimension leads to an increase in the equilibrium number of subscribers on both platforms.
