A Study of Russian Lexical Expressions for the Physical Manifestation of Emotions

Abstract

Human emotions are intrinsic to mental activities and reflected on numerous lexical expressions of the emotional category in the language, which provides rich materials for linguistic and cognitive research inquiry. This study investigates Russian lexical expressions for physical manifestation of such emotions as ＂joy＂, ＂anger＂, ＂sadness＂ and ＂fear＂ (including facial expressions, body movements, sounds, body states, physiological responses, signs of mental states, etc.). This paper aims to explore the correlation between the lexical means and the emotions and shed light on the cognitive specificity of the Russian emotional category.

情感與人類心理活動的關係密不可分，因此情感範疇在語言中有多樣的詞彙表現手法，為語言與認知研究提供豐富的資料。本文擬藉由分析俄語描述「喜」、「怒」、「哀」、「懼」情感外在表現（包括臉部表情、身體動作、聲響、身體狀態、生理反應、理智狀態的表現等）之詞彙手段、以及詞彙手段與情感類型的對應關係，探討俄語情感範疇的認知特性。
