The interventions on partner abuse have been the major area of social work both in West and Taiwan. It has been nine years since the Domestic Violence Act enacted in Taiwan. Through the years there are rich literature accumulated concerning the causes, the intervention methods, and the effects of various interventions in West. Whereas, in Taiwan, the treatment models seem vague and still emerging, and as for the effects, they are seldom examined. Thus, the purpose of the study is to explore the treatment models used among the practitioners and the effects of such treatments. Qualitative research approaches was utilized and grounded theory was the strategy for qualitative data collection and analysis. The investigator selected the interviewees from the center for the prevention and treatment of domestic violence and sexual assault. Totaled 15 social workers and 7 clients whose services were or to be terminated with good outcome were interviewed. Each interview has been transcribed and open coded. Also, the integrated coding across interviewees was finished. Further analysis will be conducted on naming each social worker’’s treatment model and hopefully a few models will emerge.
