Family breakup is not unusual in the Han Dynasty. The seniors of a family possess the authority to divide the family property. Since the family property is owned by all of its members, each eligible person receives an equal share in most cases. However, in property division, family members of different identities may have different priorities. We also analyze possible methods of solving disputes in family property division. Hopefully this article will further our understanding of family problems in the Han Dynasty.en_US
