The study of a particular country`s foreign aid policy is helpful in the analysis and interpretation of its foreign policy in general. The first problem that scholars of Beijing`s foreign aid have to contend with is the lack of reliable data. A systematic analysis of the various kinds of foreign aid documents, a careful comparison of available sources, and a sound grasp of the deficiencies of existing studies are necessary in order to arrive at a correct interpretation of Beijing`s foreign aid policy.en_US
