學位論文數位化之可行性研究：問題與展望

Abstract

學位論文在發行上，面臨了電子化需求之衝擊，因此藉美國之「網路碩博士論文數位化圖書館(Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations; NDLTD)」與美國維吉尼亞技術學院 (Virginia Tech)為主之電子碩博士論文(Electronic Theses and Dissertation; ETD)相關計畫為探討實例，並就其所涉及之商業機制與發展前瞻，做政策研擬與實務之省思為本文重點。商業機制之涉入學位論文出版自然是時勢之所趨。任何出版單位(不論是大學抑或商業機構)在執行論文提交作業時，提供作者明確的著作權說明文件，將權利與義務釐清是極其重要的。解決電子化之學位論文之道除了藉助可能之出版機構之政策統籌規範外，仍在於何者能真正滿足作者之需要，以及確實尊重作者之權益。

The impact on electronic theses and dissertations is of an important issue to scholarly community. The practices and developments of the NDLTD and Virginia Tech`s ETD program are the main concern in this study. It is found that commercial mechanism involving dissertations publishing is inevitable, especially, by the electronic form on the web or on CD-ROMs. Policies and strategies are examined in order to figure out a better vision for digitizing academic works. To satisfy the authors` need and respect them are the most essential one for building the future.
