竹塹社的研究回顧與評析

Abstract

竹塹社為新竹地區的平埔番社，位於竹北新社的采田福地為其重要的據點。每年農曆七月十七日，散居各地的派下子孫大多會回來祭祖並開派下員大會。竹塹社的研究主要始於1980年代，中央研究院台灣史田野研究工作室的張炎憲、王世慶與李季樺，以及施添福共同在新竹地區從事研究與調查。之後，有許多學者在這幾位研究的基礎上，繼續從事竹塹社的研究。本文主要回顧歷來的竹塹社研究，並且說明這些研究的成果與意義。

Pocaal is a community of Plain Indigenous Peoples in Hsinchu area. The Plain Indigenous Peoples` Land of Fortune mainly located in Hsin-she of Chu-bei city. Every year the seventeenth day of the seventh lunar month, these descendants offer sacrifice to the ancestors of seven families of Plain Indigenous Peoples` Fortune Land and meet together. The research on Pocaal have been presented since 1980s. Prof. Chang Yen-hsien, Prof. Wang Shih-ching, and their research assistant Mrs. Li Chi-hua, and Prof. Shih Teng-fu in the Taiwan History Field Research Office of the Academia Sinica jointly conducted research and investigations in the Hsinchu area. After that, many scholars continue to engage in research on the basis of the above studies. This paper mainly reviews the develpoment of research on Pocaal, and illustrates the results and significance of these studies.
