《伊豆の踊子》中譯之商權－論文學翻譯之教與學－

Abstract

拙論分析究研川端康成名著《伊豆的舞娘》七種中譯本之缺失，並提出論者之試譯，藉以開展論者對文學翻譯之教、學上的主張。 前言提出文學翻譯的社會使命與在外語學習上之功能，並說明以《伊豆的舞娘》中譯本為研究對象之理由。 第一節詳論篇名之譯法及各家譯文在第一折中有爭議部分。第二節探討二、三折中各家譯文中應商榷處。第三節例舉四至七折中各家譯文不妥處，並提出論者對文學翻譯的看法。結論歸納各家譯文之缺失並究其原因，進而提出對翻譯教學上之淺見，俾能提高譯品水準。 This paper evaluates seven different Chinese translations of Yasunari Kawabata’s novella The Izu Dancer, discusses their inadequacies and weaknesses, and proposes improved modifications, with the aim to demonstrate this author’s view on the teaching and learning of literary translation. The introduction discusses the social responsibility and pedagogical functions in foreign language teaching that literary translation carries and delineates the rationale for studying the Chinese translations of The Izu Dancer. Section one is a detailed discussion on the translation of chapter titles and the controversial portions in Chapter I. Section two covers the portions in Chapter II and III that need to be further deliberated in terms of their best translation. Section three illustrates the translation inadequacies related to Chapter IV-VII and expresses this author’s view on literary translation. The conclusion sums up the general weaknesses in the seven translations studied in the paper and also offers to explain why the inadequacies occur. Suggestions are made accordingly for the improvement of the teaching of translation and the quality of translation.
