本研究關注港生來台後的跨文化適應歷程，了解其如何面對文化衝擊以融入台灣校園生活，透過跨文化傳播的觀點蒐集調適行動、文化認同與情感變化等線索，以疑慮消除理論為分析主軸，加入焦慮管理的新觀點，由資訊搜尋行為出發重新劃定社群網站在跨文化交流中的定位。本研究共訪談14名來台港生，以質性方法分析訪談資料，發現到文化衝擊與語言使用息息相關，不但直接影響到媒體使用行為，更形成對華人文化認同差異的認識。焦慮感與抑鬱是面臨文化衝擊的必經狀態，臉書協助港生搜尋跨文化資訊，同時也透過社會連結形成支持，更促成了融入校園生活的語境，不僅降低不確定感，也能協助管理焦慮情緒並開拓社會互動。
