摘要: This chapter argues that the level of centralization of the candidate nomination procedure and the strength of the party leadership are two key factors for explaining incumbent party cohesion. The ban on reelection and the centralized candidate nomination procedure have been perceived as key elements in Mexican legislator behavior, showing very high levels of party cohesion during roll-call votes.
