\n\n本研究採用SSCI資料庫所收錄之期刊文章作為資料分析來源,以高等教育("higher education*" OR "post secondary education*" OR "post-secondary education*" OR "postsecondary education*")與國際化("internationalis*" OR "internationaliz*")之交集於主題欄位進行檢索,在不限制出版年份的條件下,共獲取1,231篇主題文獻(文獻發表時間為1989年至2021年)。
Internationalization is an important issue in the field of higher education. The study aims to reveal the current development, intellectual base, research hotspots, evolutionary path, and research fronts of higher education internationalization research. We apply citation analysis, co-citation analysis, cluster analysis, co-occurrence analysis, burst detection analysis and other bibliometric methods by bibliometric mapping software of VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and HistCite Pro.\n\nWe use journal articles recorded in the SSCI database as the data source of analysis. The research subjects in this study are the 1,231 documents (publication year from 1989 to 2021) collected from the topic search of ("higher education*" OR "post secondary education*" OR "post-secondary education*" OR "postsecondary education*") AND ("internationalis*" OR "internationaliz*") without limiting the publication year.\n\nThe results of the study reveal that research on internationalization of higher education: (1) In the past ten years, it has grown rapidly and continued to attract attention. Among them, the United Kingdom and The University of Hong Kong are respectively the country and institution with the largest number of publications. (2) The intellectual base consists of five themes, “definition, motivation and phenomenon”, “dynamic relationships between global, states, and institutions in internationalization”, “practical dimension of curriculum, teaching, research, and other”, “English-medium instruction”, and “reflection and future prospects”. (3) Research hotspots include topics such as “globalization”, “curriculum, teaching, and research”, and “mobility of students and academic staff”. (4) Evolutionary path starts from “phenomenon analysis” to “practice level”, and then to “ethical issues”. (5) Research fronts point to three issues, “university language policy”, “East Asia”, and “international education”.
