設於民國35年，民國82年正式命名為「社會科學學院」，以推展社會科學學術之教學、研究及服務為宗旨，積極致力於社會科學相關領域之教學研究，以培育國家所需之社會科學專業人才，並配合社會需要提供回流教育及社會服務工作。
