(Scenario Analysis) In keeping with the trend to greater globalization, Taiwan joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) in mid November 2001 at the WTO Fourth Ministerial Conference in Doha, Qatar. The meeting also marked the opening of the Doha Round of WTO talks. WTO hopes to wrap up its Doha Round of talks by 1 January 2005. This study will focus on the Doha Development Agenda and would be a strategic research paper for Taipei government, in helping clarifying how to optimize the fruit of give-and take in their tussles with trade-partners in Taipei's debut as a WTO full-member in the new round of multinational trade negotiations, based on economic evaluation-examining the positive and negative economic consequences of the current commitments and possible further liberalization (with possible offerings and possible requests) of trade on Taiwan, mainly with the tool of GTAP(Global Trade Analysis Project) CGE Model(Computable General Equilibrium Model.)
