『古事記』上巻に見られる女性像

Abstract

Lots of female characters appear in “Kojiki”, for example, in Volume One Izanaminomikoto、Suseribime、Toyotamabime, etc; in Volume Two Sahobime、Zinnguukougou, etc; in Volume Three Iwano-\r\nhimenomikoto、Karunoooiratume, etc. These female characters don’t only express colorful appearances of personality but also play key roles in kinds of stories. Accordingly, studying their types of personality can help us to find out the depth of their stories and classify and generalize them in “Kojiki”, furthermore, analyze the structure of “Kojiki” and its editing direction.\r\nBecause there is a large quantity of female characters in “Kojiki”, I plan to divide it into three parts to study. This thesis will focus on Volume One to study personality types of female characters.\r\nFor finding the features of characters in “Kojiki”, I compare it with “Nihonnsyoki”. By the method of comparison, I have found in “Kijiki” Volume One female characters are concluded into five major personality types -- Goddess of Mother Earth, First Ancestress, Witch, Princess and Chief’s Daughter. But every character won’t have only one type of personality, for instance the female characters of Goddess of Mother Earth also show in the type of First Ancestress all the time, and therefore I can only follow the major personality appearing in a story for each of them to do while categorizing.
