兩次世界大戰間台灣稻作業佃關係初探

Abstract

日治時代台灣租佃水準是否過高的問題，不僅不能只將之視為單純的市場均衡結果；相反地，業佃雙方就租佃額的決定，雙方的議價能力及佃農經濟狀況之類的檢討，應可說是基本之課題。唯有在此層面的先行解明之上，才能真正理解所謂市場均衡所反映的歷史史實及其意義。

The problem of whether the rent was too high or not for tenant farmer in the Japanese colonial period should not be regarded as a market equilibrium purely. However, for understanding the historical meaning about the rent, there are two issues that must be analyzed firstly. That is to say the one is price-negotiation power of tenant farmer (i.e. so call tenant right), the other one is the condition of tenant econmy.
