Abstract: This paper reviewed the major literatures of methodological debate in the study of public administration. It also showed the basic values and assumptions of different methodological stances. In addition, this paper discussed four foci: social constructive reality and science, quality criterion, core issue and knowledge growth. It is expected that this effort can help us not only obtain a broader methodological vision, but also create a better approach to the understanding of knowledge growth in the study of public administration.
本文首先回顧公共行政學方法論爭辯的歷程與其主要論述,介紹各種不同的立論與主張,其次,分析在公共行政學方法論上,實證論與後實證論兩種典範爭辯的四項焦點議題,即科學本質、品質標準、核心議題與知識成長,希望從中獲得更寬廣的方法論視野,並進以開啟公共行政學知識的心窗,以及對公共行政理論的建構及成長有所助益。
