摘要: This paper argues that Gorbachev’s Glasnost’ stimulated a pluralism of cultural life and contributed to the proliferation of informal groups in the initial stage of regime-initiated reforms. The motor of political change was more of a matter of elite choice than societal initiatives, but the interaction between the authorities and the informal groups gradually changed state-society relations in favor of the society.
