摘要: The article focuses on the relationship between self-consciousness and philosopher Sydney Shoemaker`s idea on immunity to error through misidentification relative to the first-person pronouns (IEM). The authors outline Shoemaker`s version of IEM along with related concepts central to his understanding of self-consciousness. They argue on the interpretation of IEM as a taulogy and propose to treat it as a hypothesis. A clinical case on somatoparaphrenia is also presented.
