dc.description.abstractThe article discusses trends and developments in the fiction of Taiwanese author Su Weizhen and women`s fiction in Taiwan. The author reflects on the epistemological aspects of Su Weizhen`s early work related to modernist literature. The article tracks her transition towards ontological poetics in the tradition of postmodernist literature. The interpretive theories of author Brian McHale are utilized to demonstrate changes to the form and content of her work. Other topics include the theme of love in literature, the book "The Magic Hour," and the book "An Island of Silence."
