摘要: The article critiques Joseph Conrad`s short story "Youth" in which the author challenges prevailing opinions on the interpretation on the piece. The author explores the themes of youth and death prevalent in the story, provides a different interpretation of the rise and fall of both Eastern and Western empires, and presents his insights on Conrad`s life in order to properly interpret the story.
