近代臺灣農藥史（1895﹣1970）

Abstract

自 1962 年 Rachel Carson 出版 Silent Spring 一書以降，農藥（pesticide），尤其是 DDT 致成之環境污染輿食品安全等問題，引發人們高度關注，畫灣農藥問題也並非始自 1970 年代，而應可上溯至日本帝國統治下的畫灣。這種近代化學工業的產物，究竟在何種 條件下得以進入畫灣，深入農村社會輿一般人的生活？本研究計畫乃欲追溯上起近代 化學農藥的起源，下至 1970 年代各國相繼宣布禁用 DDT 之前，農藥在畫灣使用、流 遍及其對環境影響的歷程。

Since Rachel Carson published her resounding Silent Spring in 1962, pesticide, especially DDT, became a vital issue around the world and eventually pushed many governments prohibit DDT in 1970s. Her advocate stimulates the emergence of environmentalism. Although pesticide became an environmental problem in Taiwan in 1970’s, but the issue could be traced back to the Japanese colonial period. In this project, I will try to investigate the origin of agrochemicals and pesticide, discover its production, distribution and application process, and reflect its impact to the whole environment of Taiwan.
