This paper introduces a nation-wide corruption perception survey, which has been conducted for six consecutive years, by focusing on the most recently executed respondent assessment of government integrity policy in 2008. To be more specific, it covers such heated-debate issues as property-declaration by public servants, establishment of an independent anti-corruption agency, the performances with regard to government’s active investigation into business corruption and revitalization of idle infrastructure. In addition, the willingness to file a report concerning the corruption behaviors of public servants and citizen confidence of government’s determination on fighting corruption and future prospect for the improvement of government integrity have been measured as well. Qualitative data originated from in-depth interview and focus group and official documents accompanied by the survey are incorporated in an attempt to better interpret the major evidence-based research findings. |
