摘要: The purpose of this article is to analyze the trend and changes of university’s syllabus for China Studies in Japan. Using documentary research, the article examined five Japan’s leading universities, such as Tokyo University, Kyoto University, Waseda University, Keio University and Aichi University. The article found that most of the public and private universities teach language and the general culture and social knowledge for undergraduate students, and at graduate school level, the syllabus focus on the area study approach. However, Aichi University offered a set of creative syllabus for university students, such as conducting field work in China and direct communication with Chinese people. Accordingly, medium and small size universities adopted such flexible ways for syllabus design.
