| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | Many factors, including the PRC`s military modernization, have made the establishment of an Asia-Pacific security mechanism an urgent matter among countries in the region. These countries fear that after military modernization, the PRC will be able to project its power farther and become a big regional power. However, there are historical and geographical barriers hindering the establishment of any institutionalized system of security cooperation; a more loosely structured forum for security dialogue, such as that provided by the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), would seem more feasible. | en_US |
