dc.description.abstract (摘要) | The United States and the United Kingdom have played a leading role in the library development in the world, and the progress of their library and information science education has often been good examples to follow by countries all over the world. The professional nature of the library and information service has been acknowledged and confirmed by the public because its professional education is different from the general education in its specific objectives, characteristics and theories. The paper aims to analyze the nature and various theories of the library and information education with special emphasis on the development in this aspect in the United States and the United Kingdom, and the nature and the scope of the said professional education as well as the important American and the British library and information professional education will be discussed respectively. | |
