This research plans to understand how the 『The Craze over Taiwanese Mania』 and 『The Craze over Korean Mania』have developed and become popular in Japan after 2000. Since the export of the popular culture is the most outstanding economic character for Japan, the development of the foreign popular cultures in Japan is a very interesting question. Thus, to understanding when did the two booms happen, what the background has been, or how they distributed, would be the main research themes of this research. The goals of this research might be described as the following. 1) To understanding how these foreign popular cultures have been exported and accepted by Japanese. Needless to say that Japanese popular culture has affected these two foreign popular culture for quite a long time. Would it be a factor is another theme of this research. 2) To invest the difference between the 『The Craze over Taiwanese Mania』 and 『The Craze over Korean Mania』, including the export routes, the profit they made, the broadcasting time and the channels which broadcast their dramas which might show how the two booms are treated in Japan. At the same time, does the difference of the international position or power between these two countries involve the culture field and affect the development of the booms, would be another research theme. 3) Do the policy of culture in Taiwan and which in Korea really affect the development of 『The Craze over Taiwanese Mania』and 『The Craze over Korean Mania』should also be emphasized. If the policy does play an important role, then, it is necessary to be demonstrated. If not, then how the popular cultures has been exported to Japan and developed well? By comparing the two booms and the related policy from this angle, might be useful for improving our culture policy . Finally, this research expects to draw the researchers into 『The Craze over Taiwanese Mania』. Most of the researchers focus on 『The Craze over Korean Mania』while ignore the existence of 『The Craze over Taiwanese Mania』at the same time. This is another goal of this research.
