dc.description.abstract (摘要) | In an era of high technology and global competition, human resources are vital in order for an organization to excel. Training and development (T& D) plays a key role in building an effective workforce. This study investigated twenty-eight T & D activities in Taiwanese, American, and Japanese companies in Taiwan. Data analyses of a mail survey from 190 companies show that American firms offer more training opportunities abroad, job rotation, and overseas long-term advanced study than the other two groups; operational T & D activities account for less than 50 percent of T & D success. Activities that significantly contribute to T & D success are identified for Taiwanese, American, and Japanese firms respectively, and the top five factors of perceived T & D success and failure are listed. | en_US |
