dc.description.abstract	在民主社會中，選舉制度是影響政黨多寡的一個重要因素。運用理性選擇論，我們可以看出，在扣掉文化分歧的因素之後，單一選區相對多數決法會造成兩黨制，可以說是必然的，這是政治學中少有的普遍性法則之例。其他選舉制度（包括我國所用之單記非讓渡投票法）都或多或少傾向多黨制，但非必然，要視選民偏好的結構而定。現有的經驗資料可佐證這個看法。
