| dc.description.abstract | 個人與這本書的第一次接觸是十分偶然的。二○○六年四月份到香港參加一場由香港城市大學公共與社會行政學系所舉辦的國際學術研討會，主辦單位接機的時候，有另一位美國學者要一同回旅館，當時我先抵達香港機場，約十五分鐘之後，來了一對美國夫婦以及他們的孩子，我一直以為那位男士是參加研討會的教授，一路上聊起來才知道他是Syracuse University 政治系的教授，心中一直嘀咕兩件事，一是Syracuse 有全美排名第一的公共行政學系，香港城市大學請來一位政治系的老師要作什麼？另外，老美可真重視家庭生活，參加國際研討會帶家人來一起參與，下次我也要如法炮製。第二天早上在會議的進程中，我才發現昨天晚上那對美國夫婦的太太，才是參加研討會的主角，基於對自己大男人眼光的愧疚，我對這位女教授的研究與著作產生探索的興趣。 | en_US |
