Text production research has confirmed that writing a text is controlled by many factors. Above all, cultural differences, which attribute to different sources of cultural knowledge, are to be considered within the interpretation. The goal of the present work, which is based on empirically raised data, is to analyze which cultural differences can be specified within film interpretation. The present work tries to uncover the cultural knowledge hidden in Chinese and German film interpretations with the help of the “Rahmen” and “Skripts” theory. The study determines whether cultural differences in film interpretation do exist and which influences on film interpretation they take.
