dc.description.abstract3D fabrication has spread out fast over the world, numerous users and makers are eager to design 3D models and fabricate them as well. However, there are few projects which are designed for people who have no prior knowledge about 3D modeling and fabrications. Some projects, like cubic modeling system [Hu et al. 2015], proposed an intuitive sketch-based system for an easy-use modeling. Due to our experiences of teaching 3D modeling to the teenagers, a regular demand is to create a detachable model from multiple components. In this study, we segment a 3D cubic style model into components with a simple sketch stroke, and develop an interface to design the mortise-tenon structure that suggest users the compatible combinations. Consequently, our system enables users to generate the convenient and detachable mortise-tenon objects which are possible to perform different poses by detaching the mortise-tenon pairs.en_US
