| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | 近年來，「多元文化主義」成了大家耳熟能詳的名詞，不論在學術界或政府政策的訂定，都有越來越具影響力的發展。面對此一社會現象，不論在圖書資訊學術領域或資訊服務界，我們都不能自外於這股思潮及其影響力。因此，本文主要論述多元文化的起源與內涵、多元文化與資訊服務的關係，最後，建議台灣圖書館界不論在圖書館員的任用、館藏的徵集及服務的設計上，應反映出多元文化的思維，對於不同信仰、族群、語言、性別、年齡、國籍的讀者，都能滿足其資訊需求。 | |
| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | In recent years, multiculturalism has become one of the popular terms. It has increasing influences on academia as well as on formulations of governmental policies. In Taiwan, the issue of multiculturalism is seldom systematically investigated. The principle of diversity has not been fully interpreted and implemented in library and information service. This article reviews related literature on multiculturalism, first to explore the origins and connotation of multiculturalism, and then to explain the relationship between multiculturalism and information service. Finally, the author suggests that Taiwan’s libraries should develop a set of multicultural policies to serve a great diversity of readers. | |
