摘要 In this study, the voting records for all candidates provided by the polling stations of the Taipei City in the 1994 Taipei elections were used to analyze the split-ticket voting behavior of voters. First, the 435 ii (boroughs) of Taipei were classified into five politico-geographic categories according to the dWerence between the vote percentage of the mayoral candidate and that of the city councilor candidates of various parties; related factors for each category were described according to the demographic data of various ii. Next, data obtained through sampling surveys by means of panel study were used to conduct statistical analysis of voters’ split-ticket voting behavior. After a comparison by logit analysis and controlling such factors as sex, age, place of origin, and education, it was found that intensity of party identification had the greatest influence on split-ticket voting. Candidate image was the second largest influential factor, and voters’ stance on the unification-independence issue also played a role. However, ethnic awareness showed no significant influence because of its confounding effect with demographic characteristics.
