| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has mobilized rank-and-file soldiers to engage in agricultural and sideline production and business in an effort to narrow the gap between military demands and the limitations of party-state provisions. Such production and business have relieved its financial crises to some extent, but also created confusion among soldiers, eroded morale, and weakened professionalism. Despite these problems, the PLA is unlikely to abandon its economic survival program in the near future. | |
