dc.description.abstract (摘要) | The rise of China and its implications are multi-dimensional. Together with many other countries surrounding the People`s Republic of China (PRC), Taiwan sees this rise from the perspective of its economic opportunities and political challenges. The rise of China might help kick-start a bandwagon effect for countries in Southeast Asia, and even Taiwan. Cooperation rather than confrontation with Beijing has gained the attention of policymakers as a viable option. The factors that will determine the future direction of cross-Strait relations-the rise of China, a divided Taiwan, or a combination of these two-are worthy of careful deliberation. This article also examines Taiwan`s response to China`s anti-secession law | |
