| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | Audiovisual texts are a special text type characterized by their unique double mode of discourse: i.e. information is expressed through both visual and verbal texts. In the domain of subtitling, a reductive form of translation, the translator can afford to leave out most discourse markers since they do not have referential meanings and the loss of textual and interpersonal meanings can be partly compensated for by the images and actions of the characters. The author holds that the choice of translation strategies is ultimately determined by the various factors that make up a text and their dynamic relations. | |
