SummaryIn recent years, more and more elementary and secondary school teachers have tried to introduce 3D printing technology into the classroom, due to the improvement and decreasing price of 3D printing devices. We collected teachers` opinions through a survey, which shows the need of an easy-to-use software for specific lesson design so that students` creativity can be activated. Hence we design this system with the aim to satisfy these requirements, and its workflow is illustrated as follows: Firstly, choose a drawing or picture as the input (2D). Secondly, this input image will be analyzed and processed with stylization (2D). Finally, a 2.5D model will be generated automatically based on the stylized image, and the model can be fabricated using a 3D printer or laser cutter.
