However, neurocognitive functions (NCFs) decline due to impaired hippocampal neurogenesis might occur thereafter. It is hypothesized that conformal hippocampal avoidance during the course of WBRT (HA-WBRT) might provide meaningful NCF preservation. Our study aims to demonstrate the impact of delivering HA-WBRT on NCF changes in patients receiving WBRT. METHODS: Twenty-five patients who were referred for prophylactic cranial irradiation (PCI) or treating oligometastatic brain disease were enrolled in the study. Before the HA-WBRT course, all participants should receive baseline neurocognitive assessment, including memory, executive functions, and psychomotor speed. The primary endpoint was delayed recall, as determined by the change/decline in verbal memory [Wechsler Memory Scale - 3rd edition (WMS III)- Word List score] from the baseline assessment to 4 months after the start of HA-WBRT. 關聯 Biomedical Journal, Vol.38, No.5, pp.439-449 資料類型 article DOI https://doi.org/10.4103/2319-4170.157440 dc.contributor 心理系 zh_TW dc.creator (作者) 楊啟正 zh_TW dc.creator (作者) Lin, Shinn‑Yn en_US dc.creator (作者) Yang, Chi‑Cheng en_US dc.creator (作者) Wu, Yi‑Ming en_US dc.creator (作者) Tseng, Chen‑Kan en_US dc.creator (作者) Wei, Kuo‑Chen en_US dc.creator (作者) Chu, Yi‑Chuan en_US dc.creator (作者) Hsieh, Hsiang‑Yao en_US dc.creator (作者) Wu1, Tung‑Ho en_US dc.creator (作者) Pai, Ping‑Ching en_US dc.creator (作者) Hsu, Peng‑Wei en_US dc.date (日期) 2015-09 dc.date.accessioned 6-Sep-2017 16:29:07 (UTC+8) - dc.date.available 6-Sep-2017 16:29:07 (UTC+8) - dc.date.issued (上傳時間) 6-Sep-2017 16:29:07 (UTC+8) - dc.identifier.uri (URI) http://nccur.lib.nccu.edu.tw/handle/140.119/112529 - dc.description.abstract (摘要) BACKGROUND: Whole brain radiotherapy (WBRT) is the treatment of choice for patients with brain metastases.
