摘要 我國目前正積極從勞力密集轉向知識密集的產業經濟型態。一些高科技產業的產值事實上也已高居世界前幾名。不過,若是細審這些產業的公司,將會發現它們的獲利情形並不盡理想,而且相關產品的附加價值也不高,因此唯有提升研發創新的層次與能力,才能扭轉這樣的情況。然而,高層次的研發創新本身充滿了不確定等各式各樣的挑戰,對於我國廠商而言,是比較不熟悉的一環。就學術界而言,雖然國外在這方面的研究還不少,但是國內在這領域的文獻就比較欠缺。即使有的話,通常也比較是屬於很特定領域(如行銷與研發的界面,組織結構特性等)的研究,而其中有極多的部份是採用問卷調查的方式,因此常無法看到研發創新的全貌。本研究計畫選擇我國表現較優越的高科技廠商,進行深入的研發創新之研究,從創新文化與作法、組織方式與結構、新產品開發程序與管理、及研發能耐與知識累積等四個構面來作較為整體性的分析,期望最後成果能彌補我國在這方面學術研究的缺失,同時亦可提供我國其他廠商在研發創新上的參考。
Taiwan’s economy is currently shifting from labor-intensive to knowledge-intensive. Some high technology industries, in fact, have been placed on the top of the world in terms of outputs. However, if we look into those companies in details, we will find that their profits and added values gained from the business operations are not high enough compared to those multi-national corporations. Therefore, one of the best ways to improve the situations is to enhance the innovative capabilities for research and development (R&D ). Nevertheless, to conduct high class R&D is always involved with high risks and challenges. This is new to most of the corporations in Taiwan. Although research regarding this area has been conducted intensively abroad, very few have been completed in Taiwan. In addition, many of them were conducted mainly based on questionnair surveys and were focused on only one perspective. This research project chooses high profile corporations in Taiwan to conduct deep case studies. The four major constructs of the research framework include innovative culture & practices, R&D organizational structure, new product development & its management, and core competence & knowledge management. The investigator hopes the research could complement the shortcoming of the past research and the results can be useful for Taiwanese industrial corporations which are involved with R&D and new product development.
