| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | The incidents of unrest that have occurred in rural areas of mainland China over the past few years have usually involved conflicts between rural cadres and ordinary farmers. Stripped of their traditional sources of political and economic power by the economic reforms, cadres have resorted to exploitation of the farmers, many of whom are suffering from the effects of a wider agricultural malaise, including low grain prices and rising production costs. | en_US |
