摘要	借鑑人類學研究取徑是新文化史的主要特色之一，Robert Darnton 之”Workers Revolt: The Great Cat Massacre of the Rue Saint-Severin”一文尤為公認之經典作品。本文以此篇論文與Darnton往後將前作的方法論加以前景化之”History and Anthropology”為主要素材，將Darnton的方法論再次前景化，析論他運用哪些流派的人類學理論，以實踐其所揭櫫的研究目標：即當時民眾「如何」思考事物，而不再只是描繪他們的想法(how to thought, not merely what to thought)；並且進一步分析Darnton如何轉化這些理論，以及借鑑上述理論所可能產生的缺失。
