摘要 Recent decades have witnessed intensified cross-border student mobility and an increased number of international joint education initiatives in Asia. Focusing on a particular international joint education programme by six institutes in five universities in Northeast Asia, this study examines whether and how the programme contributed to cross-border student mobility. The students in the programme were interviewed about their motivations and experiences in the programme, from which four themes were identified: personal reasons, disciplinary interest, encouraging environment, and sustainable engagement. By discussing how the students’ experiences in this programme differ from those offered by major international programmes in the region, this paper proposes that this programme could serve as an alternative international joint education programme model to facilitate international student mobility in Northeast Asia.
