Summary	The Nanjing Museum has published the photographs of some of the oracle bone fragments from its collection. After perusing them, the author believes that the digital color photographs of these materials can provide some insights into the previous cataloguing of the oracle bones in question and the interpretation of the inscriptions they bear. In the article, the author provides the examples and relevant discussion of the cases in which the photographs are: “useful for correct interpretation of an inscription”, “useful for identifying forgeries”, “useful for evaluating rejoinings”, “useful for supplementing information”, and “useful for clarifying the information on the duplicate fragments”.
