| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | The successful completion of this research plan will deepen academia’s understanding of how the early modern global economy evolved. It will hopefully inspire further studies within Taiwanese and foreign research institutions that examine the ways different parts of maritime Asia were connected and the contributions these connections made to the development global trade networks. As well, after completing this research plan, I intend to employ some of the materials I collect in undergraduate and graduate university courses in order to train students in the use of early modern archival materials. My intention is that this training will eventually help to develop a new generation of Taiwanese scholars who contribute to research on early modern economic history and South Asian history in our universities. | |
