With the rapid development of information technology and the growing adoption of immersive virtual experiences, curation practices have increasingly shifted from traditional physical exhibitions to digital curation. In recent years, the rise of the metaverse has further accelerated this trend, providing audiences with richer, interactive, and immersive curation experiences. However, existing evaluation tools remain insufficient for assessing the unique qualities of metaverse-based digital curation, particularly its interactivity and immersive characteristics. To address this gap, this study aims to develop a “Quality Evaluation Scale for Metaverse Digital Curation Design.” The scale is intended to serve as a tool for assessing the design quality of metaverse digital curation, helping curators identify key factors that influence curation design quality. Ultimately, it aims to enhance visitor engagement and offer practical guidance for future metaverse digital curation and evaluation. This study employed literature analysis and questionnaire surveys as its research methods. A systematic literature review was first conducted to explore the theoretical foundations and empirical research related to digital curation design, curation-supported learning, and immersive experiences. In addition, nine representative and methodologically rigorous questionnaires and scales were referenced to identify key evaluation dimensions and corresponding items for assessing the quality of metaverse digital curation. An initial scale comprising nine dimensions (later refined to eight) and 59 items was developed. After a pilot test, item analysis, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and reliability and validity checks were conducted to refine the scale. A formal survey was then conducted, and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed to finalize the “Quality Evaluation Scale for Metaverse Digital Curation Design” as a valid evaluation tool. The results indicated that, following the pilot phase analysis, one factor was removed from the initial scale, resulting in a scale with eight dimensions: information quality, cognitive load, perceived usefulness, curiosity, control, immersion, presence, and behavioral intention. The revised scale consisted of 44 items and demonstrated good internal consistency and construct validity. In the formal testing phase, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted to examine the scale’s structure. The model fit indices met acceptable thresholds (CFI = 0.903, RMSEA = 0.063, χ²/df = 1.679), supporting the construct validity of the scale. The finalized version of the “Quality Evaluation Scale for Metaverse Digital Curation Design” retained eight dimensions with a total of 39 items. Overall, the scale developed in this study provides curators with a useful and structured tool for identifying key dimensions that influence the quality of metaverse digital curation design. It enables curators to optimize their design strategies based on evaluation results, thereby enhancing visitor experience and engagement. Ultimately, the scale offers practical guidance for the future design and evaluation of metaverse digital curation.

zh_TW
dc.description.abstract (摘要) With the rapid development of information technology and the growing adoption of immersive virtual experiences, curation practices have increasingly shifted from traditional physical exhibitions to digital curation. Ultimately, the scale offers practical guidance for the future design and evaluation of metaverse digital curation.en_US
