This study examines how diversity in FinTech innovation affects the performance of financial institutions through patent analysis. The research analyzes three dimensions of patent diversity: separation (technology novelty), variety (technology application), and disparity (enabling technology), while investigating how firms' strategic orientations (defender, analyzer, or prospector) moderate these relationships. Based on data from 2012 to 2024, the study examines the varying impacts of each dimension of patent diversity on firm performance and their interaction with different strategic orientations. The findings contribute to understanding how financial institutions can optimize their technological innovation portfolios, providing valuable insights for organizations navigating digital transformation.
