| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | While substantial empirical research exists regarding the development of creative teaching abilities through teacher education, there is limited knowledge about how the learning environment can augment the creative teaching skills of pre-service teachers. Using a parallel mediation model, this study examined how pre-service teachers’ perception of multicultural-campus programming, mediated by factors of other-group orientation, empathy quotient, and cultural intelligence, affects their adoption of creative teaching. Survey data were collected from 266 Taiwanese and 285 Vietnamese pre-service teachers and analysis was conducted using SPSS 24 and SMARTPLS software. The results reveal that multicultural campus programming not only enhances creative teaching but that this relationship is partially mediated by other-group orientation, empathy quotient, and cultural intelligence. The positive association between multicultural campus programming and creative teaching was also found to be higher in Vietnam than in Taiwan. Our research underscores the significance of continued investment in diversity and inclusion initiatives within educational institutions. Moreover, in addition to multicultural campus programming, attention is also recommended for further investigation of other potential environmental/institutional drives and initiatives for such mediators, because they are even more direct factors enhancing preservice teachers’ creativity in teaching. | |
