摘要 This study examines how the differing socio-economic contexts of refugee entrepreneurs—habitual entrepreneurs (formerly business professionals before becoming refugees) and novice entrepreneurs (who started ventures only after displacement)—shape their entrepreneurial motivations and challenges. Drawing on 31 in-depth interviews with Syrian refugee entrepreneurs in Turkey—both novice and habitual—this study highlights key commonalities and differences in their entrepreneurial behaviors based on prior experiences and contexts. I argue that the socio-economic contexts of refugee entrepreneurs are crucial in shaping their motivations, strategies, and challenges, ultimately influencing their long-term development and underscoring the need to recognize the diversity within this group.
