摘要 The study aims to estimate the proportion of healthcare workers (HCWs)’ willingness to provide care to COVID-19 patients and to identify factors contributing to the willingness rate based on Job Demands-Resources model, with a systematic review and meta-regression. Search of the existing relevant literature was conducted by means of Cochrane Library, Medline, Embase, and Registers. Nineteen studies from 15 countries that satisfied the inclusion criteria were retrieved. Heterogeneity was quantified using the I2 statistic, and publication bias was assessed using funnel plots and Egger’s test. The pooled willingness rate among healthcare workers to provide COVID-19 care was 65.9. Meta-analysis subgroups indicated higher willingness in contexts with high reported COVID-19 cases and deaths. Willingness was also higher in countries characterized by a high number of hospital beds per capita or those classified as upper-middle to high income. The meta-regression analysis showed that cases, death rates, and the number of beds per capita were significantly associated with the willingness rate. In sum, preparedness and readiness of health services for an emergency crisis are essential to have a positive attitude of HCWs.
