| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | 本研究聚焦於「世界文學」概念在近現代中國的形塑、流變與在地化歷程,通過回顧其形成與演變,梳理「世界文學在中國」的論述系譜,並結合關鍵個案《世界文學》(1934-1935)的考察,探討中國現代文人如何在歷史轉折與文化變動的關鍵時刻,參與世界文學話語在中國的建構。此外,本文也揭示了身為編輯、出版人、教授、譯者和贊助人的伍蠡甫(1900-1992)在《世界文學》的世界文學譯介、評述方面的貢獻,探索了從「譯」到「評」,在世界文學流動的框架下,中國現代文人想像中國現代文學建構之可能。本研究指出,世界文學不僅是中國文人理解世界的重要途徑,也是他們實踐跨文化認識與表述的重要方式。透過翻譯、閱讀、教學與出版實踐,包括世界文學史的書寫、期刊的創辦,以及中國文學的外譯推廣,中國現代文人逐步形成了兼具本土視角與世界關懷的世界文學觀,並以「中國本位」的視角積極介入世界文學場域。在國族文化復興的理想驅動下,他們一方面吸納多元理論與方法資源,另一方面則以自身實踐回應全球知識生產體系,進一步推動了中國文學「走向世界」的進程,此一歷史經驗對當代世界文學的理解與研究仍具啟發意義。 | |
| dc.description.abstract (摘要) | This study examines the introduction, transformation, and localization of the concept of "world literature" in modern China. By tracing its formation and evolution, it outlines the discursive development of "world literature in China" that reveals how Chinese intellectuals engaged with the concept during pivotal moments of historical and cultural transition. In particular, the paper highlights the contributions of Wu Lipu(伍蠡甫, 1900-1992)-as editor, publisher, professor, translator, and patron-in introducing and critically engaging with world literature through the journal World Literature (1934-1935). By examining Wu's multifaceted roles, the study explores how the progression from translation to criticism and ultimately to literary creation shaped Chinese intellectuals' imaginative construction of modern Chinese literature within the global circulation of world literature. This research argues that world literature functioned not only as a vital channel through which Chinese intellectuals accessed and interpreted global knowledge, but also as a medium for transcultural dialogue and expression. Through extensive practices of translation, reading, teaching, and publishing-including the writing of world literary histories, the founding of literary journals, and the promotion of Chinese literature abroad-modern Chinese literati developed a vision of world literature that combined local perspectives with global awareness. Driven by the ideal of national cultural revitalization, they absorbed diverse theoretical and methodological frameworks while actively responding to global knowledge systems, thereby advancing the project of bringing Chinese literature to the world. This historical experience continues to offer valuable insights for contemporary studies of world literature, particularly with regard to questions of cultural mediation, intellectual agency, and the dynamics of literary globalization. | |
